Job Description Job Description As a Crook County Medical
Services District (CCMSD) Occupational Therapist (OT), you will
specialize in helping individuals of all ages improve their ability
to perform daily activities and participate in meaningful
occupations. You will evaluate a person's physical, cognitive, and
emotional abilities, and work with them to develop and implement
customized treatment plans. This position will work with
individuals who have a variety of conditions such as injuries,
chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities, and mental health
conditions. The CCMSD OT will help patients to develop or regain
skills for activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing,
grooming, and eating, as well as more complex activities such as
driving, work, and leisure activities. Position Details: This
position is a part-time position that is eligible for our full
benefit package. Essential Functions: Patient evaluation and
assessment: Conducting assessments to determine a patient's current
functional abilities and limitations in performing activities of
daily living (ADLs), work tasks, leisure activities, and other
meaningful occupations. Developing and implementing treatment
plans: Developing customized treatment plans that include
interventions such as therapeutic exercises, activities, and
environmental modifications to address the patient's specific goals
and needs. Providing therapy sessions: Delivering individual and
group therapy sessions to patients using evidence-based
interventions to improve their physical, cognitive, and emotional
functioning. Monitoring patient progress: Continuously monitoring
and evaluating the patient's progress and adjusting the treatment
plan as needed. Patient education: Educating patients and their
families on the use of adaptive equipment, home modifications, and
other strategies to promote independence and enhance daily
functioning. Collaborating with healthcare team: Collaborating with
other healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, social
workers, and speech therapists to ensure a coordinated approach to
patient care. Documentation and record keeping: Keeping detailed
and accurate records of patient evaluations, treatment plans,
progress notes, and discharge summaries. Professional development:
Keeping up to date with the latest research, techniques, and
interventions in the field of occupational therapy through
continuing education, professional development, and participation
in conferences and workshops. Required Skills/Abilities:
Interpersonal skills : Must be able to communicate effectively with
patients and their families, as well as collaborate with other
healthcare professionals. Clinical reasoning and problem-solving :
Able to evaluate patient need and develop customized treatment
plans that address their specific goals and needs. Empathy and
compassion: Need to be empathetic and compassionate towards their
patients, understanding their unique needs, challenges, and goals.
Adaptability and flexibility: Must be able to adapt to different
patient needs and work settings, as well as adjust their treatment
plans as necessary. Attention to detail: Must be meticulous in
their documentation and record-keeping, ensuring that they
accurately capture patient progress and treatment plans. Physical
stamina: Assist patients with physical exercises and activities,
requiring physical stamina and endurance. Cultural competence :
Must understand cultural differences and how they may impact
patient care. Technological proficiency: Must be comfortable using
and integrating various assistive technologies into patient care.
Critical thinking and creativity : Must be able to think critically
and creatively to develop innovative interventions and adaptations
that help patients achieve their goals. Time management : Must be
able to effectively manage their time and prioritize tasks to
ensure optimal patient care. Education and Experience: NBCOT
certified upon hire. Graduate of an accredited program in
occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT). Registered and licensed in the
State of Wyoming and be in good standing. One year of experience
preferred. CPR Certification upon hire. Pay: Competitive salary
