Bilingual Customer Service Representative

What you'll do as a Bilingual Customer Service Representative?

You'll handle Spanish and English inbound calls from our many cardholders, keeping exceptional customer service as your constant goal. You'll maintain up-to-date computerized customer information, resolve inquires, authorize sales, and most importantly, you'll build relationships with clients, customers and colleagues.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to grow and expand your skills by learning our collections role. While customer service will be your primary role, you'll also be trained to handle inbound and outbound collections calls to help customers bring their accounts up to date. We'll rely on you to handle these types of calls periodically throughout the month.

What you'll need to succeed

You'll be an effective listener, with great communication skills and strong customer service skills. You'll be the kind of person who can engage and solve problems, as well as proving your analytical skills on a daily basis. On top of this, you'll need proficient computer skills, and be comfortable utilizing PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook programs.

Remote Work

You will work from home, full-time. It will require a quiet, distraction free environment with access to high speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. Please note even though this will be work from home you will need to live within a 2 hour commute of the Synchrony locations mentioned below.

What you'll need to be considered for this role


  • 6+ months customer service experience of any kind and/or military equivalent experience.
  • Confidence using a computer
  • Fully fluent in English and Spanish
  • Be 18-years-old or older
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Live within 2 1/2 hour commute of our Canton, Ohio or Charlotte, North Carolina or Kettering, Ohio or Merriam, Kansas or Rapid City, South Dakota locations
  • Be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
  • Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance requirement).
