experience License: Registered Nurse - South Dakota Board of
Nursing Certifications: BLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Ability to
work with patients ages 0-18 and adult overflow in a pediatric
setting - Proficient in physical assessment of patients and
evaluation of symptoms and vital signs - Capability to administer
prescribed medications - Experience educating patients and families
on the plan of care - Proficient in the EPIC charting system -
Ability to titrate drips and care for mechanically ventilated
patients Description: The position is for a Pediatric Intensive
Care Unit setting focusing on critically ill patients. The unit has
a mix of general pediatrics and pediatric intensive care patients.
Patients may present with a variety of diagnoses including
respiratory illness, diabetes, septicemia, and trauma. You will
care for patients requiring critical or intensive care services in
a 5-bed PICU. Common conditions include acute and chronic
respiratory insufficiency, circulatory failure, and infectious
diseases. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 for general pediatrics
and 1:1-2 for PICU. RNs will start their own IVs and utilize
ultrasound for challenging cases. Support on the unit includes CNAs
and charge nurses who cover both units. Support services are
available from pediatric pharmacy, social work, and case
management. Weekend rotation is required, working every other
weekend. Approval for time off is required in advance. The work

and educational environment. Scrub color required for the position
