Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Registered Nurse with specialized experience in the Operating Room is needed for a contract opportunity in the Piedmont, SD area. This role supports a busy surgical unit with 11 OR suites and 1 GI suite, managing 30 to 50 cases daily. The focus is primarily on orthopedic cases including total joints (with highly preferred MAKO robotics experience), arthroscopy, spine, foot and ankle, hand surgeries, and ORIF, alongside some general, ENT, GYN, and plastics procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Circulate and provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care primarily in orthopedics. - Utilize advanced equipment including the MAKO robotic system. - Float between units/departments as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care. - Comply with all facility policies including mandatory badge-in and badge-out procedures. Qualifications and Experience: - Current RN license in South Dakota or a compact state. - Minimum of 3 years recent circulator experience in the OR with strong orthopedic background. - Certification in ACLS and BLS, both from the American Heart Association (AHA). - Previous experience with total joint replacements and arthroscopic surgeries required. - Robotics experience preferred; MAKO certification highly desired. Schedule & Work Environment: - No on-call duties or weekend shifts. - Scrubs are provided for this position. - This is a contract role with a policy for local travelers living within 80 miles of the facility regarding rate adjustments. Additional Requirements: - Candidates must disclose if they have ever worked at the associated healthcare system; a minimum 6-month gap since last employment is required. - Strict adherence to facility policies including dress code and entry procedures.
