Physician Assistant | Surgery - Neurosurgery Location: Rapid City, SD Employer: AAS Locum Tenens Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking a locums Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP-C/AGACNP) with experience in neurosurgery to join a dedicated neurosurgical team in Rapid City, South Dakota. This is a full-time locums opportunity that includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, offering a rewarding role in a collaborative and advanced surgical environment. Offering a generous shift rate. Key Responsibilities: First assist in neurosurgical procedures (cranial, spine, trauma cases) Perform inpatient rounding, admissions, post-op care, and discharges Conduct outpatient neurosurgery clinic visits and follow-up care Respond to ER and inpatient consults as needed Work collaboratively with neurosurgeons, OR staff, and hospital teams Accurately document patient encounters in the EMR Requirements: Licensed PA-C or NP in South Dakota (or ability to obtain) – Required Board Certification through NCCPA (for PA) or AANP/ANCC (for NP) – Required Experience as First Assist in neurosurgery – Required Strong clinical skills and ability to work autonomously BLS and ACLS – Required Previous neurosurgical or surgical critical care experience – Highly preferred Located near the stunning Black Hills and Mount Rushmore, Rapid City offers a unique mix of outdoor adventure, western charm, and a growing healthcare community.
