Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 48
Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred, excluding
travel experience. License: Registered Nurse (RN) - State Board of
Nursing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (required)
Must-Have: - Epic experience - Strong critical thinking and
assessment skills - Experience with complex ICU patients - Comfort
working in a fast-paced setting Description: This is a mixed ICU
unit that includes various specialties such as surgical, medical,
cardiac, neuro, and trauma. The patient population features complex
cases, including ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, and multiple system
trauma. Patient ratios are typically 1:1, 1:2, or occasionally 1:3
depending on acuity. Experience with cardiac patients and
post-operative care such as CABG/TAVR is preferred but not
required. Travelers must have prior travel assignments and live a
specified distance from facility locations. The unit utilizes Epic
for charting and employs a mix of support staff, including Nurse
Aides and resource nurses. This role requires comfort with IV
medications, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and
telemetry. The ability to work collaboratively as a team and manage
critical situations is essential. Candidates should describe
experiences where they exceeded expectations in previous roles.
Weekend rotations are expected every other weekend, though this may
not be guaranteed. No RTO is allowed during designated holiday
