Job Description:
Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join
our Orthopedic Urgent Care team. This role is crucial in
facilitating efficient and high-quality care for patients with
acute musculoskeletal issues. The selected candidate will work
closely with orthopedic specialists to manage patient flow, provide
clinical support, and ensure a compassionate care environment. Your
role will be instrumental in executing patient assessments,
maintaining medical records, and aiding in minor orthopedic
procedures under supervised conditions. Assist orthopedic
physicians during examinations and minor surgical procedures
Perform initial patient assessments and report findings to the
medical team Manage patient records and histories with high
accuracy and confidentiality Coordinate with healthcare teams to
streamline patient care in urgent situations Educate patients on
post-visit care and therapy regimes Maintain cleanliness and
organization of the orthopedic examination rooms Prepare and
sterilize medical equipment before each procedure Proficiency in
electronic health record systems Strong communication and
interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and emergency
environment Knowledge of basic orthopedic care principles Skill in
performing basic medical procedures, such as dressing wounds and
applying casts Excellent organizational skills Medical Insurance

Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
credential is required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
