Job Description:
Join Sanford Health, one of the premier healthcare systems in
the United States, as a Medical Assistant in our Orthopedic Urgent
Care department. This position is crucial for providing clinical
care and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation
of our orthopedic ambulatory services. Based in a dynamic urgent
care setting, you will assist in handling immediate
orthopedic-related medical needs, using your skill set in a
fast-paced environment to deliver compassionate and specialized
care to our patients. Assist in the examination and treatment of
patients under the direction of an orthopedic physician. Perform
administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining
medical records, and billing. Prepare treatment rooms for patient
examinations. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens or perform
basic laboratory tests. Instruct patients about medication and
special diets, prepare and administer medications as directed by a
physician. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or
physicians' instructions to patients. Help physicians with patient
examinations and casting, splinting, and other orthopedic devices.
Ensure all patient interactions are documented properly in their
health records. Clinical skills in orthopedic care Knowledge of
healthcare software and systems Strong organizational and
communication skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a
high-pressure environment Empathy and the skills to work
effectively with different personalities Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Medical
Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants
(AAMA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
