Registered Nurse (RN) | Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma Location: Rapid City, SD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,192 per week Shift Information: Rotating - 5 days Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Rapid City, South Dakota, 57701! Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Variable Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience excluding travel experience preferred. License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS all required; CPI or MAB/MOAB preferred. Must-Have: Experience with all patient types; critical thinking and prioritization skills. Description: This position services a busy Emergency Department. The department sees 150-180 patients daily. It has a variety of beds, including trauma and behavioral health. Patient types include neonates, geriatrics, and those with minor to critical conditions. Common cases involve sepsis, respiratory illnesses, GI bleeds, and trauma. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center that handles heavy trauma, particularly during the summer months. Staff will care for stroke patients and pediatric patients requiring intensive care. Traveling staff are expected to handle sexual assault cases and participate in evidence collection. There is support available from experienced staff and a quality coordinator. Work includes triage, with an emphasis on recognizing patient acuity. Patient ratios are 1:4-5 for RN and 1:4-5 for LPN. ED Techs support the unit with a ratio of 1:10. The facility has 24/7 physician coverage and access to specialists. Charting is completed using an electronic system. There may be floating to other inpatient areas as needed. Travelers may work variable shifts, fulfilling staffing gaps as needed. Weekends may be expected based on staffing requirements.
