Registered Nurse (RN) | Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Location: Rapid City, SD Agency: Thrive Staffing Pay: $1,806 to $2,001 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - PICU City/State: Rapid City, South Dakota Shift: 12 Hour Nights, 19:00:00-07:00:00 Contract Length: 12 weeks Start Date: 03/16/2026 Job Description: The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) will provide care for pediatric patients aged 0-18, as well as occasional adult medical overflow patients. Responsibilities include managing cases with varying diagnoses, performing physical assessments, evaluating patient symptoms, administering medications, and educating patients and families on care plans. Responsibilities: Provide care for general pediatric patients with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:5. Deliver intensive care for PICU patients with a varying nurse to patient ratio of 1:1-2. Float to NICU and General Pediatrics as needed. Requirements: Minimum 1.5 years of PICU RN experience. BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Completion of an approved nursing education program and licensure with the South Dakota Board of Nursing. Proficiency with EPIC charting system. Experience in physical assessment, medication administration, and care of mechanically ventilated patients.
