Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Rapid City, SD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,867 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 48 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience preferred, excluding travel experience. Candidates with 1.5 years of ICU experience, excluding travel, and significant RN experience outside of ICU may be considered with management approval. License: Registered Nurse (RN) - Approved by a board of nursing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (required prior to arrival) Must-Have: Epic experience, experience with complex ICU patients, and comfortability working a 48-hour work week. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse with ICU experience for a mixed unit. The unit includes various ICU pods and provides care for complex patients. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma care. Patient diagnoses include ARDS, myocardial infarction, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-cardiac catheterization, and multiple system trauma. Cardiac experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates should be comfortable managing critically ill patients and working in a fast-paced environment. They must possess strong critical thinking and assessment skills and work well in a team setting. Experience with IV medications, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry is essential. Candidates with experience in Impella, IABP, and CRRT are strongly preferred. The typical patient ratio is RN: 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3, depending on patient acuity. Nurses will receive support from a resource nurse and respiratory therapy, available 24/7. Phlebotomy is available for peripheral blood draws. Candidates may be expected to precept students. Weekend rotation is typical; however, it is not guaranteed.
