Job Description Job Description Fellowship-Trained Urologist
(MD/DO) Position Summary The Fellowship-Trained Urologist provides
comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients with disorders
of the urinary tract and male reproductive system, with advanced
expertise in a urologic subspecialty. This role includes
evaluation, diagnosis, operative and non-operative management of
complex urologic conditions, collaboration with multidisciplinary
teams, and delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients
with urologic conditions affecting the kidneys, ureters, bladder,
prostate, and male reproductive organs Provide subspecialty
urologic care consistent with fellowship training (e.g., oncology,
endourology, female pelvic medicine, reconstruction, infertility,
pediatric urology, or minimally invasive/robotic surgery) Perform
urologic surgical procedures and advanced interventions consistent
with training and privileges Provide non-operative management and
longitudinal follow-up care for acute and chronic urologic
conditions Participate in inpatient consultation services and
outpatient clinic care Manage perioperative and postoperative care,
including complications and recovery Interpret diagnostic studies
including imaging, cystoscopy, urodynamics, and laboratory results
as applicable Collaborate with primary care providers and
specialists such as oncology, nephrology, gynecology, radiology,
and pathology Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses,
treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes Participate in
multidisciplinary conferences and care planning as applicable
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Participate in
quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice
providers, or clinical staff as applicable Comply with all
regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic
Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school Completion of an
accredited urology residency program Completion of an accredited
urology fellowship in a recognized subspecialty Board-eligible or
board-certified in Urology Ability to obtain and maintain
unrestricted state medical licensure DEA registration or
eligibility Skills and Competencies Advanced expertise in
subspecialty urologic care Strong clinical judgment and surgical
decision-making skills Proficiency with advanced surgical or
procedural techniques as applicable Excellent communication and
patient counseling abilities Ability to manage complex and
high-acuity urologic cases Commitment to evidence-based practice,
quality improvement, and patient safety Work Environment Hospital
operating rooms, outpatient urology clinics, ambulatory surgery
centers, and inpatient units Call coverage as determined by
practice or service needs Physical Requirements Ability to stand
for extended periods during surgical procedures Manual dexterity
and physical stamina for operative and procedural care Visual and
auditory acuity sufficient for clinical and operative
environments
