Description: The Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit (NICU) will be responsible for providing care to neonates of
all gestational ages in a Level 3 NICU setting. Responsibilities
include managing patients with diagnoses such as low birth weight
and those requiring high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, or
total body cooling. The role involves collaboration with the
healthcare team and participation in deliveries when necessary.
Responsibilities: Provide patient care in a Level 3 NICU
environment. Perform vent management, IV starts, and chest tube
management. Administer and titrate IV medications as needed.
Participate in neonatal resuscitations and attend deliveries.
Requirements: Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications; STABLE
preferred. Completion of an approved nursing education program with
an active RN license from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Minimum of 1.5 years of NICU experience required; travelers must
have at least 2 years of experience if first-time traveler. Skills
in vent management, IV starts, and neonatal resuscitation. 5
