ICU/Critical Care RN in Rapid City, South Dakota, 57701! Job Title:
Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 48
Experience: 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience
preferred License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: BLS, ACLS,
NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Preferred cardiac experience (not
required) - Experience with complex ICU patients - Epic experience
- Comfortability working a 48-hour/week contract Description: This
position involves working in a mixed Intensive Care Unit. The unit
has beds designated for medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, and
trauma patients. Patient types include complex ICU cases with
various diagnoses such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, and multiple
system trauma. RNs will care for patients post-surgical and
post-cardiac catheterization. The nurse-to-patient ratios range
from 1:1 to 1:3, depending on acuity. Required skills include
experience with IV medications, hemodynamic lines, proning,
ventilator management, and telemetry. Excellent critical thinking
and assessment skills are necessary. Nurses should be comfortable
in a fast-paced setting. Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT is
strongly preferred. Support on the unit includes certified nursing
assistants and resource nurses. The facility operates with a
charting system that requires Epic proficiency. Routine floating is
uncommon and occurs only if overstaffed. Nurses may float to other
adult floors based on comfort level. Weekend rotation is typical,
with expectations of working every other weekend. There will be no
time off during holidays or the Sturgis Bike Rally. Approval for
time off extends to accommodate a full 13-week contract. 5 Benefits
