with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Rapid City,
South Dakota, 57701! Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency

Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
preferred License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS
ACLS NIHSS TNCC PALS Must-Have: Experience with all patient types,
including neonates and geriatric patients. Critical thinking and
prioritization skills. Willingness to communicate effectively and
ask questions. Description: The Emergency Department sees 150-180
patients daily. The main ED has 33 beds, with 8 beds dedicated to
Trauma and Resuscitation. There are 5 pods divided into 4 rooms and
a hall bed. We also have a vertical care area that can be utilized
for patient care. The department handles a variety of cases,
including sepsis, respiratory illness, and critical trauma. As a
Level 2 trauma center, we see substantial trauma cases,
particularly in the summer months. Our facility is equipped as a
complete stroke center. Traveling RNs are expected to take care of
sexual assault patients and perform evidence collection. Pediatric
patients are also in our purview, and we care for critically ill
children. The triage nurse must assess patient acuity and
prioritize care appropriately. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4-5.
Support on the unit includes an ED Tech, lead tech, and charge
nurse available 24/7. Phlebotomy services are available
round-the-clock, and respiratory therapists are also present in the
ED. 24/7 physician coverage is provided, including hospitalists and
nurse practitioners. The charting system used is EPIC, and
experience with this software is preferred. Floating may occur
between inpatient areas for task assistance. Shift schedules vary
and may include weekends, with no on-call requirements. Manager
approval is needed for time-off requests, especially during peak
