Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering personalized nursing care to residents by employing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position involves collaboration with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary team members, including healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care planning and execution. The RN is expected to demonstrate proficiency in nursing practices and adhere to age-specific standards relevant to their clinical environment. Responsibilities encompass all aspects of preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. In this role, the RN may also act as a charge nurse, delegating appropriate tasks to both licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel, ensuring that these tasks align with job descriptions, skill sets, resident care needs, and the competencies of those delegated. The RN provides necessary support to ensure safe and effective resident care while addressing any concerns related to care and services. This position operates within the guidelines set forth by the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules of the state of practice. The RN is expected to uphold the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses as established by the American Nurses Association. Qualifications Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program is preferred, including institutions recognized by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). A Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is preferred. Must possess an unencumbered RN license from the State Board of Nursing in the state of practice, or hold multistate licensure if practicing in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
