Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Rapid City, SD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,178 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, excluding travel experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Epic experience - Experience with complex ICU patients - Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics) - Familiarity with hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management - Strong critical thinking and assessment skills - Ability to work well in a team setting - Comfort in a fast-paced environment with critical patients Description: Start dates range from February 16 to March 2. The unit consists of a mixed ICU with a total of 39 beds. Patient types include complex surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patients. Diagnoses may include ARDS, myocardial infarction, CVA/TIA, COVID-19, post-cardiac catheterization, post-surgical, and multiple system trauma. Experience with cardiac cases is preferred but not required. Travelers must live 100 miles away from any facility. Patients will generally be assigned an RN ratio of 1:1, 1:2, or, rarely, 1:3, depending on patient acuity. Travelers must obtain required certifications prior to arrival. Mandatory certifications include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC. The nursing education program must be approved by a nursing board. Nurses may be required to float to other units if necessary. Support includes 1-2 nurse aides per unit, charge nurses overseeing ICUs, and respiratory therapists available 24/7. Charting is done through Epic. Nursing staff will work with intensivists and advanced practice providers during shifts. Weekend rotation is as scheduled but specific rotation cannot be guaranteed. Time off during holidays is not permitted. Additional time off requests must accommodate a full contract duration. Navy scrubs are required for this position.
