Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Surgical experience in a
tertiary care center - Skills in Ortho-Trauma (ORIF, Ex fix,
Amputations), Neuro (Craniotomy, Spinal), General, Robotics
Description: The department runs 10 operating rooms Monday through
Friday, from 0700 to 1500. There are 20 pre-operative bays and 14
post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) bays. The patient types include
surgical cases in urology, neuro, orthopedics, robotic, general
surgery, podiatry, ENT, and gynecology. Patient ratios are 1:1 in
the operating room, 1:2 in pre-op, and 1:1 or 1:2 in PACU Phase I
based on acuity. In PACU Phase II, the ratio is 1:2 to 1:3. The
support staff includes surgery RNs, first assistants, surgical
technicians, nurse clinicians, and schedulers. The charting system
used is EPIC; prior experience is preferred. There may be floating
responsibilities to endoscopy, pre-op, PACU, and floor as needed.
Call expectations include ideally one overnight shift per week and
every third weekend. Holiday expectations include working 2 out of
4 major holidays. Approval for time off must be obtained from
