Registered Nurse (RN) | Psych Location: Rapid City, SD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,224 per week Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psych Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Behavioral Health - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required, travelers must have 2 years of experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Certifications: BLS and CPI (preferred to have prior to start but can obtain during assignment) Must-Have: Ability to perform physical restraint on an agitated patient, verbal de-escalation skills, good communication skills Description: This position involves providing care to psychiatric patients, including children, adolescents, and adults. The patient population includes individuals with diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, psychosis, and adjustment disorders. The role requires the ability to manage violent or aggressive behavior and perform physical restraints if necessary. The registered nurse will administer medications, evaluate care plans, conduct assessments, and perform minor wound care. The environment includes security personnel available 24/7 and panic alarms worn by staff. The nurse will be responsible for charting and documentation using an electronic health record system. A charge nurse will be present on each shift to provide support. The facility has a collaborative approach with behavioral health technicians available to assist with patient care. Scheduling includes variable shifts, with weekend rotations every other weekend and potentially floating between units.
