Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Spearfish, SD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,384 per week Shift Information: 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/26/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Variable Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in Labor and Delivery License: Registered Nurse (RN) - State Board of Nursing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: EFM interpretation and intervention, adult and neonatal assessment skills Description: This contract can be either 36 or 48 hours. The labor and delivery unit has 8 beds. Travelers must live more than 100 miles away from the facility. A first-time traveler will be accepted with labor and delivery experience. Permanent staff must wait one full year to return as a traveler. Patient types include labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, newborns, and infants under 28 days old. A Level 2A nursery will care for sick babies. Experience with gyn-surgicals or mastectomy post-op is preferred if the candidate is not comfortable with these cases. Lab services are available 24/7. The patient ratio for laboring is 1:2. The couplets ratio is 1:3-4. There is no certified nursing assistant specific to labor and delivery, but one is available for the facility 24/7. A charge nurse covers all units in the hospital. Centralized fetal monitoring is not available. The charting system used is Epic. Floating may be required to med/surg roles within the scope of practice and below. Weekend rotation involves working every other weekend. Call schedules are based on census and rotation. Holiday expectations include three holidays scheduled and one on-call. Time-off approvals are limited to two requests per year, with requests needing to be made before the next schedule is posted.
