About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Hospice
Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Hospice House Duration: 13
weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum
of 1 year experience accepted, with extensive experience in hospice
preferred. License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS required
Must-Have: - Hospice philosophy - Symptom management - Knowledge of
terminal diagnosis criteria - CADD pump experience - Wound care -
Medication management - IV skills Description: Provide
compassionate nursing care to terminal patients in a hospice
setting. Support patients requiring respite, GIP, or routine levels
of care. Maintain patient safety and ensure comfort. Work with a
nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 when full. Assist with patients as
census decreases, moving to 1 nurse and 1 aide for 8 patients.
Collaborate with charge nurse to manage care effectively.
Participate in symptom management and provide wound care as needed.
Administer medications and perform IV management with proficiency.
Work on a weekend rotation requiring availability every third
weekend. Participate in holiday coverage as scheduled. Approval for
time-off requests must be obtained through the contract process.
