RN in Rapid City, South Dakota, 57701! Job Title: Registered Nurse

years of ICU experience excluding travel experience is preferred.
License: Registered Nurse (RN) - State Board of Nursing
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHHS, TNCC Must-Have: - Epic experience
- Experience with complex ICU patients - Experience with IV
medications, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management,
telemetry - Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
Description: This position involves providing care to complex ICU
patients. Patient types may include surgical, medical, cardiac,
neuro, and trauma cases. Diagnoses may include ARDS, myocardial
infarction, stroke, COVID, post-surgical conditions, and multiple
system trauma. Cardiac experience is preferred but not required.
The facility will not take fresh open hearts unless the staff is
experienced and the facility feels comfortable with this. Patient
ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2, with 1:3 being rare and acuity
dependent. Required skills include the ability to work well in a
team setting and cope in a fast-paced environment. The unit has a
support system that includes nurse aides, charge nurses, and
resource nurses. Physicians include intensivists and advanced
practice providers available during shifts. Charting is conducted
using an electronic system. The ICU setting may require floating to
different units as necessary. Additional requirements include the
ability to describe a situation where the traveler exceeded a
leader’s expectations. The scheduling will include weekend rotation
every other week, though it is not guaranteed. There are no
restrictions on time off during specified holidays. Approval of
time off may be required to accommodate the full contract duration.
