qualified ER/Trauma RN in Rapid City, South Dakota, 57701! Pay
Information $2,290 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: Registered
Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 26 weeks Shift:
Variable Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of
Emergency Department experience preferred License: Registered Nurse
License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS required; CPI
or MAB/MOAB preferred Must-Have: Experience with all patient types
as described Ability to perform ESI assessments during Triage
Critical thinking and communication skills Willingness to
prioritize care and ask questions Experience outside of this
specialty may also be beneficial Description: Candidates will be
expected to provide care for a diverse patient population. The
facility sees 150-180 patients daily. The emergency department
includes 33 beds and specialized areas for trauma and behavioral
health. Travelers may need to care for patients with conditions
ranging from minor injuries to critical illnesses. Experience with
trauma patients is particularly important, as the emergency
department is a Level 2 trauma center. Travelers will be
responsible for evidence collection in cases of sexual assault,
with support available as needed. Pediatric patients may also
require care, including those in critical condition. Nurses must be
able to triage patients effectively, determining priorities based
on the severity of their conditions. The nurse-to-patient ratio is
typically 1:4-5. Support staff includes ED Technicians, charge
nurses, and 24/7 physician coverage. The charting system in use is
EPIC. Orientation includes facility-specific training and
unit-specific education. Scheduling is variable, with multiple
shifts available. Travelers may work weekends based on staffing
needs. Holiday work may be required if necessary. Manager approval
is needed for time-off requests. Scrubs will be provided.
