TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Rapid City, South Dakota, 57701! Pay Information $3,006 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 20 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years of general nursing experience required. License: Registered Nurse (RN) - Must have a valid state license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Travelers must live 100 miles away from any healthcare facility. Will accept first-time travelers with 2 years of experience. Patient ratios: RN: 1:4 most of the time, can be 1:3 (acuity dependent). Experience with cardiac procedural recovery, MI pharmacology, titratable cardiac/vasoactive drips, and cardiac rhythm interpretation is required. Description: This position is for a mixed acuity unit, which includes Intermediate Care, Telemetry, and MedSurg patients. Travelers should understand the patient types, including direct admits, ED admits, and post-cath lab. Responsibilities include managing patients with MI, NSTEMI, STEMI, CHF, dysrhythmia management, and pacemaker malfunction. Must be capable of caring for step down level patients, including post-cardiac/vascular, post-cardiac cath, post-open heart surgery, and post-pacemaker insertion. Support on the unit includes CNAs, a charge nurse, and phlebotomy services. Charting is performed using an electronic health record system. The resource nurse is available occasionally. Nursing staff may be floated to other units as needed, primarily to sister units, depending on practice scope. Orientation consists of two partial days of education followed by three 12-hour shifts on the unit. Weekend rotation is required every other weekend. Holidays are also required every other year. Time-off is awarded up to seven days, with restrictions during peak periods.
