Registered Nurse - ER Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty:
ED/MedSurg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Variable Hours per
Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year (can be a mix of ED and
MedSurg) License: Registered Nurse (RN) Certifications: BLS ACLS
NIHSS PALS CPI (preferred) Must-Have: Completion of a nursing
education program approved by a board of nursing Medical Surgical
Inpatient Care experience Experience with a team nursing approach
Description: The facility has 12 beds in the Medical Surgical unit.
The patient types include Medical Surgical, Intermediate level, and
outpatient infusions. All diagnosis types are included, such as
Stroke, Myocardial Infarction, and Trauma. The patient ratios in
Medical Surgical are 1:4-6. The unit will have CNA support with a
ratio of 6-12 patients for 1-2 technicians. There is one charge
nurse responsible for medical surgical, ED, and outpatient care,
available 24/7. Phlebotomy services are available on campus during
business hours and are on-call after hours. An IV/VAT team is
available, with the charge nurse acting as the resource.
Respiratory Therapy services are in-house Monday to Friday from 7
AM to 3 PM, with no call required. There are no hospitalists
on-site. The charting system used is EPIC. Floating is permitted
within the scope of practice and below. Scheduling includes a
weekend rotation, where the entire team works rotating shifts with
no set weekends. Self-scheduling is available. Holidays will be
assigned as needed, and approval of time off must be done prior to
the start of the contract. A condition snow policy is in place,
ensuring staff are compensated for all incurred hours during such
