Waste Connections, a leader in integrated waste services, is seeking a dedicated Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the operational efficiency, safety, and longevity of waste management equipment. You will work directly with residential, commercial, and industrial waste management machinery, ensuring our commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible waste management practices is upheld. Perform scheduled maintenance and preventative repairs on all waste management machinery and equipment. Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Maintain accurate records of each repair and maintenance activity performed on equipment. Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure an adequate supply of parts is available without overstocking. Adhere to all safety policies and regulations, contributing to a safe working environment. Assist in training junior mechanics, sharing knowledge and promoting teamwork. In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in the use of hand tools and heavy equipment. Strong attention to detail and reliability in performing maintenance tasks. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k ASE Certification in Medium/Heavy Truck preferred. CDL license or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment. Safety training or certification in industrial equipment is advantageous.
