Job Description:
Waste Connections, a leader in solid waste management, is
seeking a dedicated and skilled Preventative Maintenance Mechanic
to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining the
operational efficiency of our waste management equipment, ensuring
minimal downtime and extending the lifespan of our machinery. As a
Preventative Maintenance Mechanic, you will work on a variety of
vehicles and equipment, contributing directly to the smooth and
environmentally responsible operations of our services. Perform
routine maintenance and inspections on waste management vehicles
and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Identify and
repair any issues related to hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and
electrical systems. Document maintenance actions, keeping detailed
records of services performed and parts used. Adhere to safety
policies and procedures to prevent injuries and accidents.
Collaborate with the management team to schedule preventative
maintenance and minimize machinery downtime. Assist in the ordering
of necessary parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
Provide support to other maintenance projects, as needed. Strong
mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic
systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and
mechanical issues efficiently. Excellent hand-eye coordination and
physical condition to manage heavy equipment. Proficient in using
various types of hand tools and machinery maintenance equipment.
Good communication skills for documenting maintenance processes and
collaborating with team members. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance
Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid driver’s license.
Certifications in Mechanical and Electrical systems are highly
desirable. Forklift operation certification is beneficial.
