Sanford Health, a premier health system spanning multiple states, seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant for our Orthopedic Urgent Care facility. In this dynamic role, you will be a crucial part of a team that addresses urgent orthopedic issues, providing compassionate and efficient care to every patient. Your duties will include assisting with patient assessments, processing and maintaining medical records, and supporting the orthopedic staff in delivering specialized care. This position is critical in ensuring a smooth operational flow within our fast-paced, urgent care environment, directly impacting our mission to improve the human condition at every stage of life through exceptional care, spiritual enrichment, innovation, and discovery. Assist healthcare professionals in the application of casts, splints, and braces. Prepare patients for examination and treatment including detailed orthopedic evaluations. Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Operate and maintain orthopedic equipment safely. Educate patients on follow-up care and orthopedic maintenance. Comply with all healthcare safety and sanitation regulations. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems Knowledge of orthopedic terminology and procedures Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment Experience in applying basic orthopedic devices, like casts and braces Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 6 months of hire.
